speech on rakshabandhan

Good morning!

Respected Chief Guest, Principal, Teachers, Guests and my dear colleagues!

Today, on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan, I am going to express some of my thoughts in front of you.

“The festival of Rakhi is
There is a shower of happiness everywhere,
tied in a thread,
Brother sister love is unbreakable.

The word Rakhi is derived from the Sanskrit word Raksha. To bind means to bind.

Thus, Raksha Bandhan is that thread, which is related to being ready to protect.

Rakshabandhan is the main festival of Hindus. Rakshabandhan is also known as the festival of Rakhi.

This festival is the most unique festival of brother sister. On this festival everyone’s heart is filled with joy and gaiety.

Rakshabandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of Sawan month. On this festival, sisters take bath in the morning and decorate the plate of worship.

Kumkum, Rakhi, Roli, Akshat, Deepak and sweets are placed in the plate of worship.

After that the brother is seated in the east direction of the house and his aarti is performed.

Akshat is put on the head. Kumkum tilak is done on the forehead. After that Rakhi is tied on the right hand, then sweets are fed.

Brothers give gifts to sisters. On the day of Rakshabandhan, sister ties Rakhi on her brother’s wrist and prays for her brother’s long life.

The brother promises to protect his sister for the rest of her life. Many dishes like Kheer, Sevai etc. are prepared on this day.

Sisters send Rakhi by courier for their brother when they are away from their brother.

This festival connects brothers and sisters emotionally. Brother-sister relationship is sour-sweet.

They quarrel among themselves but cannot live without talking to each other.

The tradition of the festival of Rakshabandhan strengthens the relationship of brother and sister.

Therefore, we all should celebrate this festival in the traditional way.

story of raksha bandhan

Let us now see the story of the history of Rakshabandhan.

The history of Rakhi is very old. This story is the most popular among Rakhi stories.

Once, when Krishna’s finger was cut off, Draupadi tore off a corner of her sari and tied it on Krishna’s hand.

According to the statement, in the most difficult time of Draupadi, Shri Krishna fulfilled the debt of a piece of that sari by saving Draupadi from being ripped off.

That piece of sari was accepted by Krishna as Rakhi.

Another story is that when Rani Karnavati of Chittorgarh saw that her soldiers would not be able to stand before Bahadur Shah’s military force, the queen sent a Rakhi to Humayun to protect her kingdom from Bahadur Shah.

Emperor Humayun fought against Bahadur Shah on behalf of Queen Karnavati, despite belonging to other religions.

Nowadays women go to the border and tie rakhi to the soldiers deployed in the security of the country because they protect us.
