The government earned Rs 28 lakh by selling tickets for the Republic Day celebrations


Republic Day celebration 2023: According to tradition, like every year, this year also on January 26 i.e. Republic Day was organized on the duty path of Delhi. The parade and the Beating Retreat ceremony have proved to be a profitable deal for the Government of India. A large number of people came to see both these ceremonies, by selling tickets for which the Government of India earned Rs 28.36 lakh.

Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt gave information

On the occasion of Republic Day, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt gave information about this in the Lok Sabha on Friday. He told that after the sale of tickets, the process of refund of canceled tickets is going on. In fact, in the Lok Sabha, information was sought about tickets sold in the Republic Day Parade and Beating Retreat program, while replying to this, the Minister of State for Defense said that tickets worth Rs 28,36,980 have been sold this year.

34.3 lakhs earned in 2018

The minister further said that after the sale of tickets, many tickets were also canceled due to the loopholes left in the system. The process of refund of canceled tickets is underway and will be completed soon. He said that Rs 34.3 lakh was earned from ticket sales on the Republic Day of 2018. Whereas, in the year 2019, Rs 34.34 lakh was earned, in the year 2020, Rs 34.72 was earned.

Earnings came down to 10.12 lakhs in 2021

However, after the Corona epidemic, the income decreased to 10.12 lakhs in 2021 and in 2022 this income was reduced to just Rs 1,14,500. After two years, once again in 2023, the public came to see the parade. Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt said in his reply that a budget of Rs 1.53 crore was given to the Ceremonial Division of the Ministry of Defense for all kinds of formal events for the year 2018-19.

For formal events, a budget of Rs 1.29 crore and Rs 1.32 crore, Rs 1.32 crore was kept for 2019-20 respectively. Let us tell you that the tickets were sold in three categories, which were of 20, 50, 100 and 500 rupees.
