यह परिभाषा अधिनियम की परिभाषा-धारा से ली गई है।

any person who is employed either directly or through any agent including a contractor, for any work at a workplace. is employed on regular, temporary, ad-hoc or daily wage basis, whether for remuneration or without the knowledge of the principal employer
